The good thing…
…about having a tumblr and keeping it nice and tidy with no blogroll, trackback, commenting, feedburner etc, is that I have absolutely no idea who reads my blog (other than my mum- thanks mum, oh and Wils and Sam- cheers boys). Which although a pain in the arse with my marketeer hat on, is actually quite liberating when I’m writing my posts. I don’t have to worry about not appealing to an audience because I have no idea if I have one or not.
All too often now, I read blogs which are impersonal, boring and not particularly insightful. I hope that by NOT knowing who reads my blog makes my posts more interesting. Though as soon as I get wind of an audience or not, I’ll probably sell out and get all the community features under the sun, or I’ll just quit my job!
For now though, I’ll keep my head in the sand, tapping away on this here keyboard without a thought for anyone else’s reading pleasure but my own. And I know what you’re thinking, then why put it on the net, why not just keep a private book? Good good point Tim. Thank you Tim. Diaries though are not as nearly as good at playing videos.
And ultimately, it will be those blogs which write with the liberty before they knew they were famous that will stay at the top of the blog charts (yes mum, they have a chart for blogs now too).
