Football gossip
If you’re anything like me and completely enthralled by the football transfer merrygoround, you’ll like this site. Amusingly, they’ve put a success percentage on the rumour accuracy of each paper. I remember back in the 90s when my dad would buy the Sunday People and I would make a beeline straight for the footy gossip page which was one page full of football transfer speculation peppered with quotes from managers which didn’t substantiate any kind of story. If Derby County ever got a mention with a half decent player, it would fill me with hope for the next few weeks whilst I waited for the announcement we had signed the aforementioned player.
Interestingly though from a social media or “smeedia” POV, I now get most of my ‘footy goss’ from online sources. Whether it’s email from friends, blogs I read, RSS feeds I subscribe to, social network groups I’m invited to or other online publications I consume. This could be a nice little twitter feed- tweets from an official source with info on the transfer activity of your team during the January transfer window for example.
